AC/DC are an Australian rock band established in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. With their minimalist sound, they are often considered to be one of the most influential hard rock bands of the ’70s. Ranked fourth on VH1′s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock”, AC/DC has sold over 200 million records worldwide.
The band is also the fifth-best-selling band in US history.
DESIGN ELEMENTS OF AC/DC LOGO
The AC/DC logo remains one of the most iconic logos in rock history. It was created by Atlantic Records’ creative art director Bob Defrin and famous graphic designer Gerard Huerta . The logo was unveiled on the release of the international edition of their fourth studio album “Let There Be Rock”.
Shape and Font of the AC/DC Logo:
The AC/DC logo features unmistakable gothic lettering similar in appearance to that found in Gutenberg’s Bible. Huerta designed the font to match the semi-Biblical title of the album “Let There Be Rock”. The logo became highly popular and memorable, being used on more than 20 million album covers and merchandise.
