The History of the Led Zeppelin Logo

The logo for Led Zeppelin also happens to be one of the most recognizable logos in rock n’ roll culture. Whether it be worn on a t-shirt or on a vintage touring poster hung on a wall, the logo has distinguishable features that allow it to stand out from the crowd. The design for the logo consists of the band’s name “Led Zeppelin” in white lettering on a solid black background. The logo was designed in 1973 by Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis, originally intended to be used as part of the cover art for the album Houses of the Holy. It was instead widely accepted as the logo for the band, and since then it has been printed on countless Led Zeppelin posters and Led Zeppelin shirts for fans to use to show their dedication to the band.
